Talkin About Disney Animations From 1990 to 1996 Part What the fuck ever

I've been reading too many bad Spider-Man clone stories lately, just keeping a nice little word document instead of updating this blog 42 times a day. I think the best story gets a Kinda Recommend and the worst gets Fuck You for Reading This rating. So this is why I have other things to talk about on this blog so I don't get too bogged down when one of them gets into a shithole of garbage. I at least hope the shows today won't be shitholes of garbage...

I have literally the vaguest idea of what Raw Toonage was. The vaguest idea and since most of it is now considered lost media I can't really review it for you. I'm of the opinion that yes you can review a show by seeing an episode or two, but there's like 7 minutes of footage on youtube from different episodes. I don't think that's fair by far. So this CBS Saturday Morning Show that lasted for an whopping 12 episodes (and apparently starred several Duck Tales characters) must just remain a vague memory of childhood. I don't even remember watching this on CBS but in reruns, maybe whatever company got Bonkers got this included because he's in the show. Who really knows but yeah I lived in Canada and I would watch YTV on Saturday because they would get all the best stuff for us Canadian kids. Anyway uh yeah Raw Toonage exists and I'm sure I watched it.

Which brings us to Bonkers. I think I might be the one person who enjoyed this show. I mean I enjoyed it a lot more as a child as the show feels like it's trying to hard now as an adult but I still got some fun out of the episodes I recently watched. There were a bunch with Lucky Piquel and a bunch with a cop named Miranda. In fact it seems that there was some weird issues behind the scenes that I didn't know about. Some Miranda issues were aired first, then Lucky, then Miranda, then finally Lucky again. So if you are crazy about continuity this show may not be for you. Despite the fact I still laughed at some stuff this is to be honest a cheap imitation of the whole Roger Rabbit thing. I wonder if it was supposed to be his show. Anyway, not terrible but I liked it a lot more when I was 8. Apparently Brer Bear makes an appearance in an episode, I thought Disney would hide away all that tarbaby Song of the South stuff like it was some kind of poison. Anyway, I guess I give this a Kinda Recommend. I dunno.

Today's final show is Marsupilami and like Raw Toonage it seems that I can't really review this show as I don't think the Sebastian the Crab segments (since when was he a wacky and slapsticky character?) and the Shnookums and Meat segments (yes the Disney Ren and Stimpy first appeared on this show! Tell your friends that trivia and they'll make fun of you for remembering Shnookums and Meat!) are online anywhere to be seen, but I did watch one Marsupilami segment and it was okay. I'm pretty sure I must have watched this show as a kid because I remember the two characters but man I don't remember anything about them. Oh and they were based on a Belgian comic from like 1952. I'd like to read the comic actually. Anyway I can't really talk about the show overall, I'm just reminding you that Shnookums and Meat was a thing.

Well hopefully next time I can actually review more than one show and not have to make a whole paragraph out of "Yeah, this show is lost media and I'm not fucking Merlin or a dude with 10,000 VHS tapes so I can't review it"
